Knight Foundation’s Report on ‘The Emergence of Civic Tech’
With civic technology becoming a larger part of the investment conversation, it makes sense that organizations are now preparing to understand the broader ecosystem of a somewhat mysterious civic tech trend. This is a ‘first-of-its-kind’ report that, to me, really puts into numbers the demand for a better way to do government. According to the report, civic tech has been growing at an annual rate of 23% since 2008. It’s not about tooting the Civinomics horn, but rather showing you (with actual data) that there is a movement happening to finally meet the needs of our communities. The question is, what will you do with the resources provided?
