Santa Cruz Water Meetup Next Thursday!
Civinomics will be hosting a meetup about Santa Cruz water on October 30 only. The Santa Cruz Water Supply Advisory Committee is holding a public meeting on October 23 where they will discuss the results of the recent convention. You can learn more about the meeting by clicking here.
You may have heard about last week’s Water Supply Ideas Conference (and if not you can read about it in our blog and this Sentinel article). Basically, the event was an unprecedented experience in civic engagement, where over twenty members of the public presented their ideas for solving the local water crisis and more than 400 Santa Cruzans came to the Civic Auditorium to learn about the proposals and begin the evaluation process.
Maybe you were planning on going to the convention but something came up last minute. Or maybe that Giants game was too good to pass up : )Either way don’t sweat it – because we are going to host a post-conference meetup about Santa Cruz water!
Come on by to Cruzio Internet on October 30th anytime between 6:30 and 8:30 pm for pizza and conversation about ideas for solving Santa Cruz’s water challenges. Civinomics staff will be there to give you a run-down of the proposals that were presented at the conference, and will help you as you look through and evaluate them on our site. Bring a laptop if you can!
And of course if Thursday evenings are no good for you, you can always go online and check out the proposals at civ.io/santacruzwater. In the 21st century there should be great options for both offline and online engagement in local issues, and that’s what we’re here for.
So if you think you might swing by, you can rsvp by either sending us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope to see you there!
